Progress User Group: Summer Conference 2022
Last month, we sponsored and attended the Progress User Group’s Summer Conference event, which discussed the new technologies from Progress Software along with insight on resilience, performance tips, business intelligence and more.
Some fantastic speakers were on the panel, including Gary Clink, Head of Global Technical Enablement at Progress; Tomm Bascom, Partner Emeritus at White Star Software; Lutz Fechner, Project Consultant at Consultingwerk and Dave Darby, Senior Consultant at Cyberscience Corporation.
We also had a stand with a team available to talk about all things digital transformation, cloud and software development; did you see us? It was great to meet up with some talented individuals in a face-to-face environment again; the last one we attended was pre-lockdown!
Before the pandemic, a user group conference organised by the PUG committee was held yearly with regular webinars sharing expertise. Over the years, we have supported these events by providing technical presentations on development best practices, database tuning, and progress service training such as NativeScript.
Attending the conference and being close to the big names of the Progress world is an inspiration, and it is great to be a part of the future of Progress. Our managing director and Progress User Group’s former Membership Secretary, Andy Brown, said: ”What an excellent PUG conference, the room was buzzing and had such a robust and exciting agenda. Credit to the team that organised it – all that effort paid off! Best of luck to the new committee”.
Following the steps of Andy, our Team Leader, Diego Aires, recently put himself forward for the accredited committee and was accepted! Diego commented on the accreditation: “Being accredited to be part of the PUG committee is a tremendous personal and professional achievement and an acknowledgement of my focus and expertise. I am passionate about making a difference and collaborating with our clients to make possibilities happen and move their business forward with technology; being part of the PUG committee supports these goals. Andy has done an excellent job bringing a lot of value to the Progress community (PUG) over the past years, and this is what I aim to keep doing in the future.”
