Delivering a bespoke membership platform for Powerleague
As a long-term technology partner to Powerleague, we’re continually working together to evolve and strengthen their digital platforms. Most recently, that meant designing and delivering the technical foundations for their new customer membership scheme.
Powerleague welcomes thousands of players into its clubs every week. When the opportunity arose to deepen customer loyalty and engagement through a free membership programme, the focus wasn’t just on launching an offer, it was about embedding membership seamlessly into their core systems to create real operational and commercial value.
Turning strategy into seamless experience
The membership vision was clear:
-
Early access to pitch bookings
-
Exclusive discounts on food, drink and equipment
-
A smoother, more connected in-club experience
-
Richer customer insight through better data capture
To make this work properly, membership functionality needed to be built directly into Centrenet, Powerleague’s core booking platform, with tight integration across EPOS and CRM systems. It had to feel native, not bolted on.
Engineering membership into the core platform
Working closely with Powerleague’s team, we designed and implemented bespoke enhancements across Centrenet, strengthening the underlying architecture to support membership recognition and benefits at every touchpoint.
We introduced an advanced booking window exclusively for members, ensuring priority access was managed seamlessly within the existing platform.
In-club recognition was equally critical. By integrating Centrenet with Epos Now, tills automatically recognise members when their QR pass is scanned and apply the relevant discounts instantly. No manual workarounds, just a frictionless experience for staff and customers alike.
On the CRM side, we integrated with HubSpot, enabling Powerleague’s marketing team to clearly identify members, track behavioural patterns and deliver more targeted communications. Alongside this, we introduced enhanced reporting and data enablement capabilities, giving leadership better visibility over membership performance, transactional activity and customer engagement.
Immediate impact
Despite a tight timeline, the project was scoped rapidly and delivered ahead of schedule, ensuring everything was live and operational from day one.
The response was immediate.
Aanand Hirani, Head of IT at Powerleague, said:
“The launch of our new membership scheme has been a huge success. Within the first two weeks we saw nearly 3,000 members sign up and over 1,000 membership pass scans in our venues.”
Early adoption at that level reinforced both the demand for the scheme and the strength of the technical delivery behind it.
Building for long-term growth
Because we built membership directly into the core platform, rather than layering it on top, Powerleague now has a scalable foundation for future enhancements. The platform supports their long-term ambitions to increase customer loyalty, grow in-club spend and strengthen data-driven marketing.
For us, this project reflects the value of long-term technology partnerships. When you deeply understand a client’s systems, operations and goals, you can move quickly and build solutions that deliver measurable impact from day one.
