A UK BASED MANUFACTURER

A new radar detection system to be used on heavy machinery in the manufacturing and mining industries was planned to be launched.

The new system required a high degree of technical development and the essential piece of .Net software needed to be updated and interface seamlessly with the existing radar hardware to ensure the drivers are warned of obstacles blocking their path. As such it doesn’t just prevent expensive accidents, it saves lives.

Working alongside the client's team, Propel Tech's developers took time to understand the original application, and then collaborated to plan what the new and improved application needed to achieve and mapped out updates using Microsoft .NET and C#.

The project required significant testing of hardware prototypes - testing was essential and the Propel Tech team of expert testers ensured multiple scenario testing was standardised in the process.

As the hardware evolved, there was a risk that the underlying application protocols could change alongside every hardware update up until its final approved form - this was to be avoided.

Propel Tech worked to develop a new communication protocol with the hardware in its prototype form so that no matter what its final iteration, the whole software system could evolve with minimal changes and testing - saving hours of checking, and reprogramming.
